Over recent weeks I've started reading 'The Reflective Practitioner' by Donald A Schön, which is part of our recommended reading list.
An interesting book that really supports module 1, the opening few sections describe how professionals just know certain things through their experience and how there's just some things that cant be learned without engaging in the work.
Another point made was that as professionals we can see what has deviated from the norm but might not be able to describe the norm. This made me think about when I'm teaching and observing students, I am constantly watching and scanning to check their technique, however this thought about creating the 'norm' doesn't run through my mind constantly but I can pick up a correction instantly and deliver feedback, this has become second nature and isn't something I think about how I know what to say and how all the time, I just do without articulating the whole thought process and knowledge behind it.
